Nine names its 2022 NRL sponsors and partners as season kicks off

Nine’s Wide World of Sports has unveiled its partner line-up to kick off the 2022 NRL season, with existing and new partners playing a part of TV’s greatest game and leveraging the huge opportunity across Nine’s suite of assets.

Taking advantage of the network’s position with Total TV, Total Publishing and Total Audio opportunities across the WWOS and Nine NRL content ecosystem, Harvey Norman, Telstra, McDonald’s and Sportsbet have returned in 2022 as Full Seasons Partners.

Ram Trucks, Hisense, Tradie, Kellogg’s, Kia, Menulog, Chemist Warehouse, Stan and Isuzu are also returning as sponsors, each leveraging the wide and diverse opportunities that Nine’s ecosystem provides.

In 2022 a number of new brands have also invested with Nine including Gulf Western Oil, Ampol, Pilot, Swyftx and UPI.

“As we shared last year at the WWOS upfronts, Nine has invested significantly in developing its sports content ecosystem,” said Nine’s director of sales – Sport, Matt Granger. “We don’t say ‘unrivalled’ lightly, but there is simply no other combination of assets and platforms created and curated like that of WWOS and Nine.”

“We have seen our returning and new partners further leverage that opportunity in 2022. The footy year has already got off to a flyer with some great footy from the NRLW. We can’t wait for the men’s season to start, and with Manly up against the Panthers this Thursday, I can’t think of a better way to kick off season 2022!”

With a new season kicking off tomorrow (Thursday), NRL on Nine provides brands with an unrivalled platform to connect with rugby league fans. Underpinned by Nine’s 24/7 conversation around NRL across a WWOS ecosystem, fans and brands will get a front row seat to 30 weeks of continuous content spread across key competitions.

“In 2022, that platform continues to expand with an increased commitment to NRLW, including a brand new NRLW magazine show, NRLWrap,” said Nine’s head of content partnerships – Sport, Anne Gruber.  “The 9Network is presenting not just one but two NRLW premierships meaning fans can tune into over 100 hours of live and free coverage of Women’s Footy.”

“The weekends of footy are bookended by magazine shows, which will set the agenda and keep audiences up-to-date with all the NRL news and discussions.”
