Nine wins Sunday, while digital channel Go records highest share in official ratings year
Nine led the start of the ratings week with the premier of Australian telemovie Wicked Love – The Maria Korp Story, although it failed to rate higher than Seven’s evening news and observational documentary, Air Ways.
Nine’s Go also led among the digital channels, with a 5.3 per cent share. It was the second-highest result for Go since its launch last year. On Christmas Day, during the ratings off season, it attracted a 5.4 per cent share.
Last night, Seven’s 7Two had a 3.3 per cent share, while Ten’s sports channel One with 0.5 per cent.
The result also saw Go surge ahead of SBS’ main channel, SBS1, which had a 4.8 per cent share.
In overall free-to-air TV viewing, Nine was ahead with 26.9 per cent, followed closely by Seven with 26.7 per cent and Ten with 20.4 per cent, according to overnight preliminary OzTam data in the main metropolitan markets.
The return of Nine’s long-running current affairs program 60 Minutes made it on the top ten most watched list with over one million viewers. But it was down slightly from the 1.195 million it averaged last year.
On Ten’s main channel, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation was its biggest-rating show for the night with almost 1.2 million viewers, and was also the most-watched show among 18 to 49 year olds.
However, its new US drama The Good Wife fell below the one million mark to 904,000, after premiering with 1.4 million on February 7. Ten’s House also fell further from 958,000 last week to 764,000 last night.
Meanwhile, among all FTA viewing the third official ratings week of the year was won by Nine’s main channel with 26.8 per cent, followed by Seven with 25.2 per cent and Ten with 18.8 per cent.
Sunday’s channel share:
- Nine: 26.9%

Sunday’s top-rating programs:

- The Good Wife Ten 902,000
- The Biggest Loser Ten 835,000
- Domestic Blitz Nine 821,000

What’s with the rounding of the figures over 1m? Doesn’t really give a true indication of how shows rated. For example Bones rated 1.239m, not 1.2m last night. Not much difference, but enough for it to not be accurate.

Hi Dino,
Up until now we’ve tended to round up the ratings figures. But we do take your comments on board and we’ve now reflected that in the top 15 most-watched list.
Cheers,
Camille – Mumbrella
I was unfamiliar with the murder so when I heard of the show I figured it must have happened at least 30 years ago & was to be similar to Crime Investigation Australia showing the case as it was solved etc. BUT to my HORROR I learnt the case is only 5 years old! I found it disturbing that no respect was shown for the INNOCENT VICTIMS of this horrible crime especially the CHILDREN who now have to RELIVE it all again thanks to the show. Were their names changed to protect the innocent? I doubt it! Like underbelly (half an episode was enough) I was also disgusted with the ugly sex scenes. They were NOT NECESSARY!! No regard was shown to the REAL CHILDREN of both Maria & her female murderer let alone for the YOUNG ACTORS! I think the power of suggestion would have been enough to get the message across that the felons were sick adulterers etc. Simply put I think it was TOO MUCH, TOO SOON, and showed NO REGARD for the VICTIMS of this tragic crime. Thumbs down!
