Nine claims three of top four most-watched Sunday shows, but Seven wins the night
A strong performance by Nine had the network in three of the top four spots on Sunday night.
Winning the night was Nine News Sunday in the 6pm slot, followed by The Block at 6.30pm.
Nine News Sunday took 1.525m across the five city metro markets, according to OzTam for total viewers.
However, Seven won the night overall, by 0.8% share.
Following on from Nine News, The Block took 1.429m, and 60 Minutes in fourth place on 1.198m.
In the key advertising demographics 25-54 and 18-49, The Block took top spot, followed by Ten’s MasterChef while 16-39 the positions were reversed with MasterChef taking top spot and The Block coming in second.
Across each of the three key demos, Seven only had one show in the top five. Seven News Sunday at 6pm, was fifth in the 25-54 demo, and came sixth across 16-39 and 18-49 demos.
In total viewers, Seven News Sunday was third on 1.426m. The network’s second highest rating show was the two-hour episode of Dancing with the Stars, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. It took 1.110m, in sixth place and was followed by Bones, the network’s 8.30pm show, in seventh place with 0.886m.
MasterChef was Ten’s highest rating show in fifth place overall. The cooking show revealed the top 24 wannabe chefs to take 1.15m viewers.
In Ten’s Sunday line up, which has moved around since MasterChef’s debut last Sunday, saw Modern Family at 6.30pm as its second top show of the night with 0.785m in 10th place. New Girl, at 7pm was in 14th place with 0.62m viewers, and The Project, up against Nine News Sunday and Seven News, was in 18th spot with 0.411m.
The ABC’s top show was ABC News with 0.876m in eighth spot followed by The Diamond Queen in ninth spot and 0.873m.

Just watching Nines the voice on Monday night up against live footy on seven.The live show is not as dramatic as the earlier shows. is just another American Idol show format..nothing different to any other singing contest. they have all the same format.Booring

good point Ann, why ARE nine so utter garbage at running the station on time? Sure Tracy Grimshaw doesn’t have THAT much to say??? Getting seriously fed up with setting the IQ for the block only to find that the last 20mins is cut off due to late running time.
