Nine wins the ratings week, and Ten achieves its highest weekly share for the year

Nine has won the ratings week – which runs Sunday through to Saturday – with a 29.7% share for the network, and a 19.7% share for its primary channel.

The Nine Network comfortably won last Sunday night with a 42.7% audience share thanks to The Block room reveals and multi-channel 9Gem achieving a 15.8% share from the broadcast of the conclusion of the third Ashes test.

The Ashes also handed 9Gem the most watched multi-channel for the week with 4.8% share.

Nine also won Monday and Tuesday nights.

Seven came in just behind for the week, with a 28% network share. The Seven network won Wednesday through to Saturday nights, with Friday peaking at 34.3% for the network.

Last week, Seven’s reality dating program, The Proposal, launched on Tuesday night in the 8:30pm slot received just 307,000 metro viewers.

The Nine Network has just pushed ahead for the year, reaching a 29.7% share ahead of Seven’s 29.5%. Nine has now won 16 of the ratings weeks. Seven has won 11, and the two non-ratings weeks in April.

The Ten Network achieved its highest weekly share for the year with 19.2%, its strong performance in the key advertising demographics with The Bachelor on Wednesday and Thursday nights, reflected in its nightly shares with 22.3% and 24.6% for the network, respectively.
