NineMSN launches Wide World of Sports mobile app
NineMSN has launched the Wide World of Sports mobile application, NRL Insight, a free app that runs on iPhone and Windows Phone 7. The app is sponsored by Rebel Sport and will offer users premium NRL coverage with content from Wide World of Sports.
The app will deliver NRL commentary from Wide World of Sport rugby league player Andrew Johns, live scores, tipping, results and fixture information. Content and alerts can be customised, allowing users to highlight their favourite teams.
It will also run video from NRL-related programs such as The Footy Show, Sunday Footy Show and Sunday Roast, plus daily NRL news updates featuring rugby league segments from Nine News.
The app is available to download on iTunes.
Todd Forest, NineMSN’s director of content and audience experience, said: “The launch of the Wide World of Sports app marks another milestone for our mobile offering. As we saw with the success of the recently launched Nine Newsbreak app, which generated more than 200,000 downloads in its first month, partnering with brands such as Rebel Sport and integrating Nine content gives our users a rich app experience.”
How long do raiders fans have to suffer with no coverage for whatever the NRL has against them. It must be difficult to schedule 3 days TV, 4 games leaving 1 team out continually.
This also means that good players dont want to go where they wont be seen. AFL is looking better.
