Other award categories including Australia’s Biggest Bogan, The Oompa Loompa Fake Tan Award and the Biggest Twit Award for the dumbest celebrity tweet. TheFIX has also incorporated its own kind of election this year, asking Australians who they would rather lead the nation with the Your Preferred Prime Minister category, including candidates Bert Newton, Ray Meagher, Hamish & Andy and Magda Szubanski.

Nicholas Gray, National Sales Director, ninemsn, commented on the awards: “Last year’s awards were an incredible success, attracting nearly 25,000 votes. The initiative provides the audience with an opportunity to interact with TheFIX as well as a unique way for Advil to communicate with the audience through the fun, irreverent and cheeky tone that is synonymous with the site. We are really excited to extend the offering through to mobile this year giving advertisers another means of engaging the audience.”

Rebecca Searles, Senior Brand Manager, Advil said: “The 2010 Fix Awards gives us a unique environment to reach out to consumers through the voting mechanism, slideshows and articles both online and on mobile. It is a great way for us to feature the current Advil campaign across multiple platforms and further build our brand awareness, whether people are at their computers or following the awards on their phones.”

Voting opens today for the first eight award categories, with the subsequent 10 categories to be unveiled over the coming weeks. The Fix Awards will be promoted across TheFIX and the ninemsn network and winners of all award categories will be announced on Monday 6th September.

TheFIX is Australia’s leading online entertainment destination attracting over 200,000 UB’s per day and more than 2.7million UBs a month.
