The Hotplate finale gets lukewarm numbers, ABC comedy Utopia attracts 769,000 viewers

The season finale of Nine reality show The Hotplate on Network Nine failed to attract the big finale ratings numbers its cooking show counterparts Masterchef and My Kitchen Rules last night.

The Hotplate attracted 850,000 metro viewers for the winner announcement, which saw Brisbane friends Emi and Marie take out the $100,000 prize. By comparison 2.13m tuned in to watch contestant Billie take out the Masterchef title and 2.082m saw Will and Steve win the My Kitchen Rules competition.

Australian comedy Utopia was up on last week drawing 769,000 and while The Bachelor remained the highest performing entertainment show of the night, with 984,000 tuning in, up on 906,000 from last Thursday.Reality TV shows The Force and Border Security drew 758,000 and 778,000 respectively, while the season finale of Charlie Pickering’s The Weekly pulled 704,000.
