Nol Davis appointed creative director for SBS

Public broadcaster, SBS has appointed Nol Davis to the role of creative director.    

The announcement:

SBS has appointed Nol Davis to the newly-created role of Creative Director.

Davis will head up SBS’s on-air promotions and design divisions, integrating them into one team within the Marketing department.

Davis will also work closely with SBS’s agency partner, US Sydney, to continue to deliver consistent and highly creative output for the corporation.

Acting Director of Marketing, Katherine Raskob, said: “SBS is delighted and excited to welcome Nol to the Marketing Division. He will be instrumental in joining our two incredibly talented promos and graphics teams into one outstanding creative services hub for all of SBS.

“Nol’s experience in creating highly engaging and effective communications in a broadcast environment, as well as bringing teams of creatives together, will be a huge asset to SBS, as – in true SBS style – we continue to push boundaries in our communications.”

Davis joins SBS with 17 years’ creative experience. His most recent role was as Executive Creative Director at TVNZ, Auckland where he amalgamated the network’s design and production teams into one brand.

Prior to TVNZ, Davis spent 10 years at Channel 5 Broadcasting, London, rising from a Promotions Producer to Creative Director before migrating to New Zealand. Davis’ earlier career saw him working as a teacher and freelance journalist in South Africa and Wales.

On his appointment, Davis said: “It is a proud privilege to be joining the SBS team at this time. SBS is embarking on an exciting stage, which will continue to celebrate brave creativity and rewarding storytelling that stays with its audience.”
