Nova elevates Josh Halling to Sydney commercial director

Nova Entertainment has promoted internally for its Sydney commercial director role, as part of a restructure to its national commercial team.

The role has been taken up by the network’s sales director, direct and independent agency sales for Melbourne and Sydney, Josh Halling, who has been with Nova for 11 years.

The role previously fell under the remit of the group commercial director, with the new position looking to provide a greater focus on the Sydney market, according to Nova. Current group commercial officer, Luke Minto, will exit the business later in the year to take up a senior leadership role at SCA, reporting to new chief commercial officer Seb Rennie.

Halling will report into recently appointed chief commercial officer, Nicole Bence, who joined from Seven in December, replacing Nick Young.

Working alongside Nova’s senior commercial leaders and the network’s Create team, Halling will work with holding groups, independent agency partners and direct advertisers.

Before his time at Nova, Halling started his media career at ARN, then spent five years at Radio Fairfax in direct and agency sales management. Joining Nova in 2012, he has held a multitude of roles within the commercial arm of the business, including group sales manager, sales director, Sydney market lead, before his most recent role.
