NRL Grand Final wins Sunday for Nine, as it also takes the week
The NRL Grand Final between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Penrith Panthers, was the most watched program for Sunday, bringing in 2.202 million metro views to Nine. It also won all three key demos.
The presentation and the entertainment during the Grand Final coverage brought in 1.794 million and 1.02 million metro viewers respectively.

The coverage gave Nine an easy network share win, with 47.1% for Sunday. However, the numbers were well below the interest garnered for Seven’s AFL Grand Final the weekend prior, which saw 3.006 million metro viewers tune in to watch the Melbourne Demons defeat the Western Bulldogs, making it the most watched program of the year to date.
Nine’s 9GO was the most watched multi-channel with 3% share on Sunday.
Seven took a 19.8% network share for Sunday, with Seven News – Sunday bringing in one million metro viewers. Seven was followed by Ten on 13.8% and ABC on 11.5%.
Ten’s The Masked Singer – Unmasked brought in only 380,000 metro viewers.
Last Sunday night’s episode of The Block was the most watched entertainment show of the week 40 of TV ratings, with an overnight metro audience of 1.075 million.
In Nine also won the week with a network share of 39.4%, just ahead of Seven’s 36.5%.
