NRMA hands its creative account to The Monkeys
Insurer NRMA has handed its creative account to The Monkeys with the company breaking from its incumbent agency of three years, M&C Saatchi.
The account win will see The Monkeys work with both NRMA Insurance and CGU.
Jaimes Leggett, CEO at M&C Saatchi, said in a statement: “M&C Saatchi has had a long and successful relationship with IAG. We’ve created award winning and impactful work. Work we’re fiercely proud of. We’re sad to see the business go but wish the team all the best on their next stage of the journey.”
M&C Saatchi won the account in 2014 from Whybin/TBWA. At the time of winning the account Leggett said it was a “significant win for the agency”.
“As well as being one of the largest accounts in the Australian market, NRMA Insurance, SGIC and SGIO are all iconic brands,” he noted.
Mark Green, Group CEO, The Monkeys, said in a statement: “We love working with ambitious clients and Brent and the team at IAG will be great partners. The team at The Monkeys cannot wait to get started.”
Berlei, IGA, Holden, HCF, Foxtel, David Jones and Bingle are all clients of The Monkeys.
I guess Mr Smart loved that awful new lamb work, it had to appeal to someone.

Mumbrella was the last to report this story – Adnews had it early this morning, following that B&T and Campaign Brief. Has the negative coverage of MLA/Monkeys bitten you in the ass?

Looks like a knee jerk change from an inexperienced CMO. Best of luck to all involved. Past and present.
