NT News’ psychic crocodile calls election
Dr Mumbo calls for an amnesty on all psychic animal stunts in the run up to Saturday’s Federal poll.
In the spirit of Paul the octopus, who became famous during the 2010 World Cup for consistently picking the winning team ahead of matches, The NT News yesterday asked Burt, a 5.1 metre monster croc to pick between Bill Shorten and Malcolm Turnbull.
As the newspaper noted with a front page headlined “Chew party preferred” and a page headline of “Psychcroc chewses Turnbull”, Burt initially latched on to Labor’s Bill Shorten, but let go after deciding his didn’t like the taste of the ALP leader, instead devouring Malcolm Turnbull.
Dr Mumbo notes that reading such psychic animals messages can be somewhat of a challenge.
Back in 2010, one of his colleagues had to divine the readings of “Buddy the psychic buzzard”.
Unfortunately the well laid plan of having Buddy throw rocks at eggs with the pictures of then leaders Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott on them, went somewhat awry.
Buddy’s guidance proved inconclusive with the bird eating one red egg before turning over the the entire Liberal Party tray.
Good to see News harnessing the talents of a reptile, it will fit in well the other journalists.
