Ogilvy named ABA Employer of Choice for the third consecutive year

Ogilvy Australia has been named Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards for the third consecutive year and is the only integrated creative agency across all 54 winning companies to receive the award.

The ABA is an annual awards program which recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement and employee engagement via a set of comprehensive award categories.

Fox says the win is recognition for the agency and its values

Ogilvy Australia CEO, David Fox, said the award provides recognition for the agency and its core values.

“Creating a truly collaborative and inclusive workplace is an integral part of Ogilvy’s DNA and has been even more important in 2020 when our people and our business have been challenged at every step,” he said.

“Bringing our people together as a team when they are spread across so many mini-offices throughout Australia has been made easier as our culture has always been one of collaboration and inclusion…it’s not rocket science, if you look after your most valuable asset (people) then they will give you their best work and your business will thrive.

“We are honoured and delighted to once again be recognised as an Employer of Choice and as a business we remain committed to putting our people first in everything we do. This award belongs to all of Ogilvy Australia’s fantastic team, I applaud them and thank them for their continued dedication and hard work.”

The Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice recognises organisations that develop workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through established policies and practices which demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of organisational culture; leadership and strategy; employee education, training and development; employee health, safety and satisfaction; performance management; recognition and remuneration.

“Fifty-four organisations have been selected in this year’s ABA Employer of Choice Awards. These organisations have demonstrated adaptability in the workplace by utilising flexible and new ways of working and learning,” said Tara Johnston, program director.

“The landscape of the workplace environment has changed rapidly as technology has gained momentum, coinciding with businesses navigating a broad range of interrelated issues from the impact of the current challenges facing the global economy. The ability to work from anywhere, combined with the advances in connectivity tools makes us geographically neutral.

“Leading organisations have begun to implement an entirely new working environment that breaks down communication barriers, positioning organisations to harness the talent within their organisation, transform the employee experience and position businesses to be more resilient,” Johnston added.

Organisational participation includes private companies, public companies, multi-national subsidiaries, non-government organisations, educational institutions, government departments, government agencies, local government and statutory bodies operating in Australia.
