Ogilvy PR’s Samantha Allen to speak at PRIA forum

The Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) has announced its keynote speaker for its Women in PR forum next week as Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide’s Consumer Marketing Practice MD Samantha Allen.

The Managing Director of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide’s Consumer Marketing Practice, Samantha Allen, will return to her home shores next month to appear as keynote speaker at the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) Women in PR Forum in Melbourne.

Speaking on the topic “Brands that Kicked the Hornet’s Nest and Thrived, Survived or Nearly Died in 2010”, Samantha will talk about brands facing crises and what they did right and what they did wrong.

The Women in PR Forum at the Crown Towers Hotel , Melbourne, on Friday April 1 is expected to attract 250 professional public relations women and men.

Now in its 7th year, this annual public relations industry event raises money for a RMIT University student prize and a selected worthy cause each year. In 2011 The Social Studio will benefit. It provides work experience and training in clothing, design and production, retail and hospitality for young people from the refugee community in Melbourne

Women in PR’s Chairwoman, Lelde McCoy, said “ We’re thrilled that Samantha can join us for this event. Last year we saw some of the world’s most celebrated brands facing major crises. Even Australia’s favourite brands were not immune. We are looking forward to Samantha sharing her extensive experience in the field on how brands can protect and restore their reputations. “

Tickets for the event include a two course lunch and wine. Cost is $120 for non members of the PRIA (and $ 99 for members). The event includes a stylish silent auction and a complimentary gift bag for each guest.
