OMD retains $14m Dulux Group media account

DuluxMedia agency OMD has retained the Dulux Group business in Australia and New Zealand following a two month competitive pitch.

OMD defended the account against Carat, Mediacom and Mindshare.

Margie Reid, Managing Director OMD Melbourne said: “Our longstanding relationship with Dulux Group is very important to us, we are passionate about their business and are thrilled to continue this partnership, contributing to their future success across Australia and New Zealand.

“We are elated to finish off what has been a huge year for OMD with this fantastic news. We are extremely proud of our team who collaborated across Trans-Tasman.”

The account, which is based largely out of Melbourne, spent some $14m of media in the last year according to Nielsen and includes media strategy, planning, buying, digital and social for brands including Dulux, British Paints, Selleys, Yates and Cabot’s.

Gavin Gilligan, of DuluxGroup, said: “We are delighted to continue our long standing partnership with OMD. They have once again demonstrated their outstanding knowledge and passion for our business, proving that they are the right partner to lead our business into the future with their strategic and digital capabilities”.

In September the company shifted its British Paint, Berger and Polyfilla to Cummins & Partners for creative duties.
