OMG’s Foundation folds into Hearts & Science, MD Liz Wigmore takes on expanded remit

Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has announced plans to fold Foundation into the global Hearts & Science brand, with the former’s managing director, Liz Wigmore, set to take on the head role.

Wigmore, who has been at Foundation for over 15 years, has spent the last two years as the agency’s managing director. Now, she is expanding her remit, taking on the managing director role for Hearts & Science across Sydney and Melbourne.

She will replace Darren Stein, current MD, who is also the AUNZ CEO of OMG’s Annalect. The move will allow Stein to focus on Annalect advanced tech, data, measurement and insights services, across OMG’s clients.

Effective June 3, 2024, Wigmore will spearhead Hearts & Science’s growth in Australia, bringing the established Foundation team and its strong client offering with her.

“The Hearts & Science brand has always appealed to me since it was launched globally back in 2016. I believe creating emotional brand connection (the Heart) and maximising the potential of data and technology (the Science), is vital for brands in today’s media landscape,” Wigmore said.

“So, the opportunity to spearhead the growth of the agency in Australia, as well as continue to lead the Foundation team, was an opportunity I wasn’t going to miss.

“I am excited about the road ahead and how we can bring the Hearts & Science proposition to more brands in market.”

Hearts & Science launched in Australia in 2019,  following a successful global launch in 2016. Wigmore hopes to build its proposition, creating connections that matter, in the local market, cementing the brand in market and assisting with its growth.

“Having the opportunity to further build Hearts & Science with both Liz and Darren is a dream come true,” said Jane Stanley, CEO of Hearts & Science AUNZ.

“Liz offers the extensive media leadership experience which is highly regarded by clients, partners and teams alike, and Darren will continue to advance our clients’ data and technology transformation through his best-in-market advisory capabilities and the Annalect services.

“We feel we have the perfect team in place to offer clients innovative communications solutions in an ever-evolving landscape.”

Stein will continue to work with the Hearts & Science team in his Annalect-focused role, leading digital and data transformation for clients across both Australia and New Zealand.
