Online marketplace Gimmie has announced Cameron Murray as CEO and Brendon Harrington as head of marketing.

The announcement:

Queensland based start-up, Gimmie appoints Cameron Murray as CEO and Brendon Harrington as Head of Marketing as it launches its offering to market, disrupting the billion-dollar Rent to Own industry and challenging the Buy Now, Pay Later industry.

Cameron joins Gimmie with over 25 years’ experience across sports and entertainment, global media consulting, television and government sectors. Prior to Gimmie, Murray was the Chief Operating Officer of Rugby Australia and led the Commercial and Marketing Division for the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018.

“I am excited to join Gimmie during a period of business growth and development. Our supplier partnerships continue to grow every week enabling us to provide our customers with exceptional variety for life’s bigger purchases, coupled with a differentiated Buy Now, Pay Later product,” Murray said.

Scott Roworth Co-founder and Managing Director of Gimmie said Cameron’s passion for accelerating business growth and building high performance teams will be instrumental in leading Gimmie to successfully establish itself in the market.

Brendon’s appointment follows an impressive 20-year career in advertising, commencing with local independent agency BCM in Brisbane, now returning to join Gimmie following 15 years in Sydney. Experience leading teams across a number of financial services brands, Brendon was most recently the General Manager of M&C Saatchi’s CX specialist agency, LIDA.

“Our entire team is thrilled to have Brendon and Cameron join the Gimmie team. Their expertise and skill-set will be vital to support our appetite to scale and future growth,” Roworth said.
