Optus and AZK Media added to Mumbrella CommsCon 2024’s roster

Two bonus sessions – one on how corporate communications professionals can avoid burnout, and the other on the secrets behind Optus’ coverage of the historic FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 – officially round out the sessions for Mumbrella’s CommsCon 2024 roster.

‘Lessons & (Atomic) Habits to Combat Burnout in Corporate Comms’ is the first of the sessions completing the CommsCon roster.

Hosted by Azadeh Williams, founder and managing director of marketing and PR agency, AZK Media, the session was developed based on Williams’ six-plus years of experience as the head of an agency with international influence.

Williams’ talk will unveil the signs of burnout, the must-know habits of how to eliminate it, and how organisations can cultivate dynamic workplace cultures that empower people – not stress them out.

Meanwhile, Clive Dickens, VP of TV, content and product development at Optus, is confirmed to be leading the session, ‘The FIFA Women’s World Cup and The Power of a Shared Cultural Moment’.

Last year’s Women’s World Cup racked up impressive viewing numbers thanks to the Matilda’s performance and Optus’ full-scale coverage of it. The event dominated headlines and the national conversation, and Dickens’ talk is set to use it as a case study for how brands can leverage comms strategies that tap into the moment and effectively shape culture.

Williams and Dickens’ sessions are in line with a stack of brilliant sessions already booked for CommsCon 2024.

Other speakers confirmed for the event include Third Hemisphere’s Hannah Moreno (who’s locked in to talk all things ‘wokeism’ in communications), Edelmen’s head of strategy Peter Pippen (who’s gearing up to discuss the strategies all professionals need to survive today’s polycrisis-defined era),  Who Gives A Crap’s Kat Kearney (who’s set to offer a behind-the-scenes look into the headline-making ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: The Deforested Edition’), and more.

As always, CommsCon will finish with an awards ceremony where communications and PR agencies/workers will be celebrated for their innovative thinking and professional excellence. Nominees for the 2024 cohort have already been announced.

Mumbrella CommsCon 2024 will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney on March 27.

Tickets for the event are available now.
