Optus spruiks family data pool service with The Voice Kids contestant Robbie Anderson

Optus has tapped outspoken The Voice Kids star Robbie Anderson for a new campaign spruiking its family data pool product, created by Starcom.

The two 15-second TVCs star Scotland-born Anderson, 14, who was a popular contestant on the 2014 season of The Voice Kids Australia spruiking the benefits of the product direct to camera.

A spokesperson for the telco said they were keen to tell the story from a child’s perspective and Robbie was chosen to front this campaign as his charismatic and cheeky personality appeals to all members of the family.

Yesterday Anderson posted on his Instagram page there would be other ‘Robbie’ ads in the future, posting ‘#moretocome’.

Optus is currently reviewing its arrangements for creative, media and PR agencies, with lead creative agency M&C Saatchi facing off with Ogilvy, and Starcom fending off a challenge from Havas Media and UM.
