I cannot understand the popularity of Rafters. There are so many characters who are there for no reason. Grandpa has no role, the kids in the show nothing happens in thier lives, there is no drama or development. Can anyone who watches it please explain what it is in the show that makes it popular. The episode I watched a few weeks ago had the parents in the bed twice or three times in an episode, one guy did not want to help the other guy with the car parts for no apparent reason, then all of a sudden he decides to help for no reason whatsoever!

I agree with you Fabian. I also fail to see the fascination with the programme. I find it rather artificial and cheesy. To be honest, I think the Simpsons better reflect the families of society. Someone, throw me a bone.
