PacMags to launch New Idea Test Kitchen TV series
Pacific Magazines title New Idea is to launch a new television series on sister TV network Seven.
New Idea Test Kitchen will air nationally on 7TWO and Seven from November.
The six-week series will focus on recipes, seasonal food selections and tips from cooking experts on Christmas and summer entertaining.
The launch will be supported by a marketing campaign including print, online and point-of-sale promotion.
CEO of Pacific Magazines Nick Chan said: “This one-of-a-kind program will bring more than 100 years of New Idea’s cooking expertise to life, and allow New Idea to become a completely integrated brand, reaching more Australians than ever before with content spanning print, television and online.”

Seven producing New Idea TV show
By Celia Johnson on 8 May 2009 0 comments The Seven Network has completed the pilot for a new daily TV series in conjunction with Pacific Magazine’s New Idea that will air later this year, B&T can reveal today.
It is understood that the pilot has been produced and Seven has secured a foundation sponsor for the series. It is currently in the market securing a number of on-air sponsors through the Group’s integrated advertising sales unit SMG Red.
While details of what form the daily TV series will take are still unclear, it is understood that it will take a similar format and theme to Seven’s cooking series New Idea’s Saturday Kitchen, which ran weekly between 2005 and 2006.
Given the subject matter of New Idea, which is focused on celebrity, gossip, fashion and cooking it is likely the series will adopt similar themes.
The Saturday Kitchen series, which was hosted by cricketer Stuart MacGill and his wife Rachel Friend, was successful for Seven, taking about a 60% share in ratings despite competing with sport on the other
