Paul Colgan joins political communications consultancy CT Group

Political communications, research and campaign consultancy, CT Group, has hired Business Insider’s former publisher and editor-in-chief Paul Colgan as a director.

Colgan spent six years at Business Insider and previously held several roles at News Corp Australia including network news director for digital, editor of News.com.au, and managing editor of The Punch.

Colgan was the publisher and editor-in-chief at Business Insider

Colgan will specialise in media and technology.

Catherine Douglas, managing director of CT’s Australian research and campaigns business, said Colgan’s background would inform the business’ use of technology in campaigns.

“The CT Group is thrilled to have someone of Paul’s calibre and experience join our firm as we expand our use of technology in campaigns and throughout our business. Paul has a unique blend of experience having held senior editorial roles at some of Australia’s fastest growing digital news properties and at a time when online audiences were rapidly changing.”

Colgan said: “There’s nothing more compelling for me than working on issues where policy, technology, business and communities meet. It is a dynamic time and combining experience with data and research to advise key decision-makers is immensely exciting.”

CT Group was founded in 2002 by former Howard government advisor Lynton Crosby and pollster Mark Textor, under the name Crosby Textor. In 2018 it rebranded to CT Group.
