Excellent plan, well thought through, hope the pitch to the ‘powers that be’ see the value.
What happened to the half million dollar producer offset plan that I suggested replace the current model? Any progression?

Who shot this, its terrible its start off in the dark, haven’t you heard of a back-light, or key lights. This goes to your professional capacity, don’t have anyone there who knows how to shoot a film. Its no wonder no one wants to see an Australian film. This is the problem with you guys you all accountants not film makers. bad bad bad bad bad…

Thanks for your comments Greg.
SPAA did not produce those videos, Encore did.
The image qualilty of these videos has NOTHING to do with the quality of Australian films. I, Miguel Gonzalez, the editor of Encore, shot the video with a simple Sony handycam and no lighting. We’re journalists, not filmmakers, and regardless of the technical merits of this material, we’re posting them because of their content. It may be a dark video, but it allows our readers to hear what was discussed. It’s interesting that you have absolutely nothing to say about the content, which is ultimately the most important aspect of the videos.
@Greg I’ll think you’ll find that good accounting is a massive part of the filmmaking process and the fact that Encore try and provide the much needed journalistic coverage desired by all in the industry as all concerned try and find the most effective paths towards a sustainable business model for a faltering industry. If you hate the “look” of this content, maybe you could provide these committed journalists at encore with
A) tech advice
B) Donate camera operating brilliance
That way, while you’re mumbling your daily sermon to yourself as to why the industry is “so rooted” you could take pride in the knowledge you helped contribute something towards the kind of transparency we need if we are to try and fix what is so obviously broken.

Thanks for the coverage Miguel.
It certainly made the info available to this aspiring regional Qld producer.
