Pegley: Give me Foxtel and an early death
Sometimes it’s possible to be just a bit too topical. As journo Rob Pegley demonstrated today.
In a piece for The Punch on his love of telly, Pegley opined:
“I tense and wait for them to follow “I don’t really watch television” with something like “because I’m far more cultured than you obviously are and have better things to do with my time, but if you’re content to waste hours watching brainless drivel on the box then that’s your funeral”.
Sadly, it turns out that it is, in fact, his funeral.
His piece coincided neatly with the publication of research that suggests avid TV watchers die earlier.
Credit where due: The Punch has discovered trolling. 10 pts 🙂
I don’t really watch much television because I don’t want to wait months, sometimes years to see the latest episodes of my favourite TV shows….and I know I’m not alone.
On a related note: I can’t believe 9 is plugging 12 mth old episodes of Top Gear as new.

You are increasingly alone with putting up with this situation, though respect to you if you’re determined to preserve a Lawful Good alignment.

Geez, Pegley, all this talk of funerals must be making you uncomfortable …
