Perth radio ratings: 92.9 edges ahead of Mix in drive

The 2Day Network has eclipsed fellow Southern Cross Austereo station Mix94.5 in the drive time slot in Perth, according to Nielsen’s ratings for the second survey of 2012.

Playing second fiddle across all other shares, 92.9FM won the drive time slot with a decent increase from 14.2% to 16.7%, as Mix dropped from 17.2% to 15.7%.

In the Monday to Friday shares however, Perth is still Mix 94.5’s market winning the share, despite a drop from 16.7% in the last survey to 15.5% in this survey.

With an increase from 11.5% to 12.8%, 92.9FM has jumped to second place ahead of 96Fm which has dropped to third from 12.5% to 11.3%.

Nova93.7 sits fourth in the commercial FM market, and seventh overall, with the Monday to Friday share taking a hit across all sessions except breakfast.

In the demographics, 92.9 continues its stronghold on the 18-24 market with a jump from 24.6% to 29.4% while in the 25-39, 96FM remains ahead – just – on 16.8%, despite a drop from 18.2% as 92.9 jumped from 13.6% to 16.2%.

On the AM dial, 6PR saw an impressive jump from 8.4% to 10.0%, for the Monday to Friday share, edging it further in front of its commercial competitors, with 6IX up from 4.9% to 5.3% as 6PR’s closest commercial rival.

However, ABC702 retains the AM lead despite a drop from 11.6% to 11.1%.
