Perth radio ratings: 96FM flying, but Nova maintains breakfast and drive lead

The combo of Kendall Crake, Will & Woody and Kyle & Jackie O is having an impact in Perth around drive time – up a sharp 2.2% share (12.5% total) in the sixth GfK metro ratings survey of 2022.

However, it was Nova 93.7 that once again sealed the top spot for People 10+ (15.9%), breakfast (16.3%), and drive (15.2%) in the survey – down 0.6%, 0.7% and 0.4% respectively.

96FM has edged forward into second spot behind Nova, ahead of Mix 94.5.

In breakfast, Nova’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun led the way again with 20.2% of the segment share – up 0.2%.

Mix 94.5’s Pete, Matt & Kymba, trailed behind at 10.8% (a decline of 0.4 since the last survey), with 96FM leapfrogging it at 10.9% – up 0.9%.

ABC Newsradio made marginal gains in this survey, but is still well behind the leading pack.

The gains Nine’s 6PR’s Breakfast with Gareth Parker made last survey were more modest this time around – up 0.4%.

In drive, Kate, Tim and Joel continued to hold the majority listenership, capturing 16.9% of the overall share, a lower rate of listenership than last month, down 0.4%. Nova was followed by Mix 94.5’s Carrie and Tommy, which boasted 13% of the market. Following first and second place in Drive were 96FM and 92.9 Triple M.

The summary report shows radio market share, which is the percentage of the total radio listening audience in that market, in a defined period, that is tuned to a particular radio station.
