Perth radio ratings: Mix 94.5 claims top spot overall but Nova remains #1 in breakfast

Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix 94.5 has taken the #1 overall position in Perth, growing its audience in the latest GfK radio survey by 1.7 points to 13.4% while Nova 93.7 dropped by 0.4 points to 13.1%.

Nova, however, remained as Perth’s #1 in breakfast with 14.3% up by 0.2 points and in drive with a share of 16.7%, slight drop by 0.8 points.

Its closest competitor, taking second position in the breakfast slot, was Mix 94.5, which grew its audience slightly by 0.9 points to 13.6%.

Triple M, which is relatively new to the Perth market, saw the biggest decline in breakfast ratings, dropping by 1.5 percentage points to 5.4%, with an overall loss of 0.8 points to 6.3%, while the station’s drive network lost 1.3 points to a 5.7% share.

Triple M launched on 1 December 2020, with Basil (Baz) Zempilas, originally from 6PR, joining co-hosts Lord Mayor, Xavier Ellis and Jenna Clarke to headline an all-new breakfast show this year.

Nova’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun dropped in numbers by 0.2 points to reach a 14.3% share, however still remain the market-leader in the breakfast slot.

Mix 94.5’s Pete, Matt and Kymba, remained on a steady on 13.6%, growing its audience by 0.9 percentage points, while Dean Clairs and Lisa Shaw on 96FM increased their breakfast audience by followed by 1.9 points with 11.5%.

Nova’s Kate, Tim and Joel still remain as the #1 station for drive with a 16.7% share, but dropped in listeners by 0.8% points.

Coming in second position on drive was Mix 94.5’s Carrie and Tommy, who took 12.4% share, growing by 0.6 points.

Survey five took place from Sunday, 23 May to Saturday, 26 June and Sunday, 11 July to Saturday, 14 August.
