Perth radio ratings: Nova ends the year on top as Mix wins back listeners
Nova 93.7 has remained as Perth’s overall market-leader holding a consistent position overall, in breakfast and in drive in radio survey eight of 2021. In survey five, it was Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix 94.5 which held the #1 position overall.
In breakfast, Nova’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun did, however, lose listeners, with a drop of 0.4 percentage points to 12.7%. Last survey the station had a 13.1% share.
It’s closest competitor, taking second position in the breakfast slot, was Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix 94.5’s Pete, Matt and Kymba, which, in this book, has seen a steady incline growing its audience share by a 1.2 percentage points to end on a 12.1% share. In survey seven, Mix had a share of 10.9%.
92.9’s rebranding to Triple M saw the station’s new breakfast show Baz, Jenna, Xavier, grow in audience share in survey six, but this book saw the trio remain on a 5.8% share, the same as survey seven.
Triple M launched on 1 December 2020, with Basil (Baz) Zempilas, originally from 6PR, joining co-hosts, Xavier Ellis and Jenna Clarke to headline an all-new breakfast show this year.
Capital Radio Network and Grant Broadcaster’s 6IX also remained on the same audience share as survey seven, with its breakfast audience finishing with a 5.1% share, however its drive segment saw a growth of 0.9 points to a 5.3% share.
In drive, Nova’s Kate, Tim and Joel continued to take the #1 spot in drive, however, dropped in audience with a 13.4% share, dropping by 0.1 point.
Coming in second position on drive was Mix 94.5’s Carrie and Tommy, however, took a 12.5% share, also dropping by 0.1 points.
