Perth radio ratings: Nova returns to top spot, dominating breakfast

Nova93.7 has returned to the top spot overall for people 10+ in the second GfK metro ratings survey of 2022, after being knocked from its perch by ARN’s 96FM in Survey 1.

Despite a small bump of two percentage points in share for the ARN station, and increase of 0.7 points gave Nova93.7 a marginal lead of 0.1%.

Notable losses in overall share were felt by Capital Radio Network and Grant Broadcasters’ joint venture 6ix and Nine’s 6PR, dropping 1.0 and 0.9 percentage points respectively in what was a relatively disappointing book for AM.

In breakfast, Nova93.7’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun bolstered its significant lead with an increase of 2.2 percentage points that took it to a share of 16.6%. Remaining in second place was 96FM’s The Bunch, with an increase of 0.6 points to 11.4% for the breakfast timeslot. SCA’s Mix 94.5 took out third position, staying relatively stable with a small increase of 0.3 points to 11.5%.

A substantial loss of 1.5 percentage points was felt by 6PR’s Breakfast with Gareth Parker, which saw the show drop from third to fifth place for breakfast, compared to the last book.

For drive Nova93.7’s Kate, Tim and Joel Mix94.5’s Carrie and Tommy tied for the top spot on 14% each. Despite losses for both shows, a significant drop of 1.3 percentage points saw Nova tie for the lead.

In third place with 12.8% share of the drive slot was 96FM, which dropped 0.5 points down from 13.3% in the last book between its two drive time shows Russel Clarke and Will and Woody.
