Hamish & Andy knocks Casefile from top spot as Shandee’s Story enters Podcast Ranker top 10
LiSTNER’s (SCA) Hamish & Andy has toppled Casefile, returning to the top spot in Triton Digital’s Podcast Ranker results for March 2022 for the first time since being dethroned by the true crime podcast in the October 2021 results.
The results come as Hamish & Andy released its first episodes of the year, dropping 5 new episodes over the month of March for a total of 960,488 monthly listeners. Dropping to second place, Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime released 6 new episodes and achieved a total of 922,162 monthly listeners.
ARN/iHeartMedia’s Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne was shifted from second place down to fourth despite achieving 552, 425 monthly listens.
News Corp Australia’s Shandee’s Story rose eight positions to 10th place with 269, 693 monthly listeners, returning to the top 10 for the second time after peaking at 5th place in December 2021.
Little movement was seen between the top 10 publishers, with ARN’s iHeart Podcast Network remaining in the lead overall, followed by LiSTNER (SCA) and Audioboom. Total monthly downloads continue on an upward trajectory, reaching 72.8 million for the month.
The top three shows were the same across the Top 100 Ranker and the All-Australian Ranker, with Hamish & Andy (LiSTNER), Casefile True Crime (Audioboom) and The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
Podcasts debuting in the Top 100 included Wondery’s Twin Flames at 43, as well as Allan & Carly- Hit WA (LiSTNR), The Daily Aus (ARN/ iHeartMedia) and How I Built This with Guy Raz (Wondery).
Several shows also made a return to the Top 100, the highest being Listnr’s The Morning Crew – Hughesy Ed and Erin – 2DayFM, alonside Triple M Rocks Footy AFL (LiSTNR), Fifi, Fev & Nick – 101.9 The Fox Melbourne (LiSTNR), Six Tackles With Gus (Nine Digital), Cautionary Tales with Tim Harford (ARN/ iHeartMedia) and FOX FOOTY Podcasts (News Corp Australia).
Participating publishers include Audioboom, ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia, DM Podcasts, Equity Mates Media, Hidden Brain Media, LiSTNR (SCA), Motorsport Podcast Network, News Corp Australia, Nine, NOVA Entertainment, Podshape, Schwartz Media, Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), Stitcher Media, TOFOP Productions, The Chaser, Wavelength Creative and West Australian Newspapers.
The latest Australian Podcast Ranker covered the period from 1 March through 31 March, 2022, as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.
