Perth radio ratings: Triple J sees resurgence as ARN’s 96FM endures tough period
Triple J has leapfrogged both Nova93.7 and 96FM to sit second behind Mix 94.5 as Perth’s most popular station, the third radio ratings survey of the year has shown.
The station saw its overall share jump 2.8 points to 12 per cent, with Australian Radio Network’s 96FM falling from second place to fourth after a 0.4 point decline to 10.9 per cent.
Nova remain in third place with a share of 11.4 per cent, a marginal improvement on the previous survey.
They all remained behind Mix despite its share falling 0.4 points to 13.5 per cent. Mix also slipped in the breakfast slot – down 0.7 points to 12 per cent – which enabled Nova to edge in front with a share of 12.3, up from 11.5.
ARN’s 96FM, which endured a tough ratings period, fell sharply from 10.7 per cent to 9.3 per cent while ABC’s Triple J gained 2.2 point to finish the period with a breakfast share of 11.2 per cent.
In contrast to 96FM’s struggles, Triple J enjoyed a resurgence with its drive slot also seeing a sharp rise, from 10.6 per cent to 12.4 per cent. Nova did regain its top billing in the drive period, despite a slight dip of 0.1 points to 14 per cent.
ABC72o was the most popular AM station with a share of 9.8 per cent, down 0.9 points, with its breakfast show the most popular across both bands with a 13.3 share, despite a fall of 1.7 points.
