Pete Bosilkovski resigns as head of Clemenger BBDO Sydney

CEO of Clemenger BBDO Sydney, Pete Bosilkovski, has resigned from the agency, and will leave his role at the end of the month. A search for his replacement will be made “in due course”.

Bosilkovski joined the agency two years ago, following the departure of Nick Garrett, who resigned as CEO of both Melbourne and Sydney offices.

A statement said that he has “decided to take a break and spend more time with his family as he seeks to explore a different opportunity in his career”.

Clemenger Group chairman and CEO Robert Morgan said: “We are obviously disappointed that Pete will step down from this role, but we wish him well in the next phase of his career and thank him for his contribution to the Agency.”

“He has curated an energetic, talented and fearless team at Clemenger BBDO Sydney, who have pushed the boat on all fronts and created some ground-breaking and innovative work together in the past two years. He is leaving the agency in a strong position to continue to thrive.”

Bosilkovski was joint chief executive of VMLY&R before joining Clemenger, quitting seven months after being appointed to the role following WPP’s merger of VML and Y&R. Clemenger Group is part of the Omnicom Media Group.

“He has curated an energetic, talented and fearless team at Clemenger BBDO Sydney, who have pushed the boat on all fronts and created some ground-breaking and innovative work together in the past two years. He is leaving the agency in a strong position to continue to thrive,” continued Morgan.

Bosilkovski said: “Leading a company throughout the pandemic has been extremely rewarding and challenging in my career as a leader. I have learnt a lot about myself as a professional, a husband and as a dad. This period has certainly made me reflect on all aspects of my life, and I will take some time out to explore a different path and opportunity.”

“I want to thank Robert Morgan, the Clemenger BBDO Sydney management team, and everyone across the agency for their exceptional creative work and support. I would also like to thank our client partners who have supported me on this amazing journey.”

In August, Clemenger Group selected Les Timar as its next CEO, set to take over from Robert Morgan on 1 January 2022. Morgan will remain as chairman of Clemenger Group however, after handing over the CEO role that he has held for 23 years.

Speaking to Mumbrella last month, when asked about how this would change things, Garrett said “we’ll see”. “I imagine it will be hard for Robert to let go, but I hope he does. Because Les will do a great job. But time will tell.”

Bosilkovski continued: “We’ve injected an incredible sense of energy into the company – an energy for thinking differently, and an energy to grow and win new business. This is the direct result of the talent we’ve nurtured, who all share a strong passion for innovative creativity.”

Until a replacement is found, Clemenger BBDO Sydney’s leadership team will report directly to Morgan.

Morgan continued: “We have a terrific leadership team at Clemenger BBDO Sydney – Darren Wright, Brendan Willenberg, Jade Clark, Claire Bissett, Lilian Sor, Graham Sweet, Lewis Steele and Adrian Ciabotti – who will continue to lead the agency forward.”

This change will be effective from Monday 1 November.
