Peters relaunches the KISS Thunderbolt
Peters ice cream has relaunched 80s favourite the KISS Thunderbolt ice block, on the back of the rock band’s 40th anniversary tour.
A popular hit in the 1980s with KISS fans, the announcement has already caused a stir among the ban’s online fan groups.
Some fans have even gone so far as to put the icecream on eBay asking as much as $15.00 for a KISS Thunderbolt Wrapper.
The brand has also created this YouTube video featuring Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley talking about the popularity of the icecream in the 1980s.
The Kiss Thunderbolt is available for sale today from Caltex outlets and Peters says it expects to sell out of the product.

There is absolutely nothing those two won’t do for a buck. Yes, that is buck with a ‘b’.

Remember these as a kid. Also remember them tasting pretty foul.
Had heaps of KISS merchandise: action figures, posters, colouring books, magazines, masks, t-shirt, guitar and much more.
But never owned an album.

Australians are just so flattered when a US artist pays us any attention – first the madden brothers, now these two. Yes, these guys will endorse any product regardless of how unrelated it is!

So awesome – this ice cream is aimed at kids who are in their teens. They were born in the mid-late 90s!
Kurt Cobain was dead in the ground, KISS were at least 12 years gone.
Besides, what has this got to do with the product promise… How does it build a unique brand association and brand asset. Oh that’s right, it does neither.
Well done to the agency and client who proposed something so clearly irrelevant to building sales and brand fame.
