Media Agency PHD has restructured its Australian business around its gamification platform with a focus around the three key areas of business, communications and investment planning.

PHD launched its operating system, Source, just over a year ago, putting gamification at the heart of company culture as it lets staff score points for various activities and see how they compare on global and local leader boards.

It also brings together marketing science, innovation and paid owned earned investment optmisation in one gamified, collaborative engine, the Omnicom-owned agency maintains.

The new focus on business will be led by Peter Hunter, who has been promoted from national head of digital to national head of business planning and the national executive team.

Joining him on the team is Erin Jakubans national people and development director. Jakubans recently joined PHD from Omnicom Media Group in NZ.

Stewart Gurney, who was the strategy director at PHD, has been promoted to  head of communications planning in Sydney and joins the overall agency leadership team.

Mark Coad, PHD chief executive, said: “We are delighted to announce these promotions, the guys really deserve the recognition – they have contributed not only to the award-winning work leaving the agency but the vibrant culture that is producing it. Our clients have access to market leading talent, demonstrated by what had been an excellent period of growth for PHD.”

PHD Worldwide’s global strategy and planning director Mark Holden discussed gamification in a live video hangout with Mumbrella in November.
