PHD set to be local winner from HP’s global realignment

Media agency PHD appears set to benefit from Hewlett Packard’s global realignment of its media business.

Over the weekend it emerged that HP is switching its account from Zenith Optimedia to Omnicom following a pitch.

Although noone from PHD was available to comment locally, Mumbrella understands that in many markets, the Omnicom Media Group-led work will be housed in PHD offices. Omnicom’s other main media agency brand in Australia is OMD.

This morning, Belinda Rowe, boss of Zenith Optimedia in Australia, told Mumbrella: “I have not had any formal advice as yet.” But she said that if her agency did lose the account, only a couple of staff work exclusively on the business and would be reassigned. She said: “There’s plenty of other work in the agency.”
