Hayden: Quitting as Naked CEO

Phil Hayden, the CEO of Naked Communications Asia pac operation including Australia, has left the company – leaving the agency searching for a new boss.

His departure comes less than nine months after he took on the role after joining Naked through the merger of fellow Photon Group strategy agency Bellamy Hayden.

The company has been taking a new direction under co-chairman Steve Gatfield who joined last year.

The terse announcement read:

“Phil Hayden, CEO of Naked Communications has announced his resignation from the company, effective June 1st, 2012.

“A co-founder of Bellamy Hayden, he became a Managing Partner at Naked Australia following the merger of the two companies in 2010 and subsequently CEO of Naked for the APAC region.

“Naked will conduct a search for a new CEO. In the meantime, Founding Partners, Mike Wilson and Adam Ferrier will continue to lead the agency.”

The agency’s Australian office was originally founded by Wilson, Ferrier and Mat Baxter who was later ousted and is now CEO of UM. During last September’s shake-up Ferrier became the company’s global head of behavioural sciences while Wilson was named chairman ANZ.
