Pinterest strives to support underrepresented communities via its Pinterest Inclusion Fund

Pinterest has rolled out an initiative in Australia designed to uphold indie publishers and small businesses serving or from underrepresented communities – the Pinterest Inclusion Fund.

The announcement:

…Pinterest has launched the Pinterest Inclusion Fund in Australia to support small businesses and independent publishers from, or serving, historically underrepresented communities.

Designed to unlock opportunities for diverse content producers and businesses, the four-week incubator program will coach participants on practices for optimising their organic content on Pinterest and how to make the most out of the platform’s tools to drive value for their business.

Participants will attend virtual educational sessions uniquely designed for their needs, covering topics such as:

  • Platform best practices to support business growth
  • Deep knowledge sharing from Pinterest
  • Cash grants to assist with content production and optimization
  • Ad credits to help propel their content on Pinterest

The Pinterest Inclusion Fund is open to small merchant businesses, and independent lifestyle publishers that are owned and operated by, or produce content and products for BIPOC, disability, plus-size and LGBTQIA+ communities.

It builds on the success of the global program, now in Australia for the first time, which delivered three inspiring years of teaching creators and content producers how to grow, connect and succeed on Pinterest

Speaking on the announcement, Constance Knight, head of content partnerships at Pinterest said:

‘We know there is a need for simple, scalable solutions to support the growth of underrepresented content producers, such as small business merchants who are often under-resourced. This programme is designed to assist content producers in learning how to optimise their inspirational organic content on Pinterest and ultimately help unlock more opportunity for their business.’
