A Pointless dream for Mark Humphries
While Dr Mumbo is something of a sceptic when it comes to positive-visualisation philosophy The Secret, it would appear to work in television.
First came Sophie Monk’s route to The Bachelorette, which involved talking about it on Tom Gleeson’s television show, The Weekly with Charlie Pickering.
Now comes former SBS comedian Mark Humphries, new host of Ten’s Pointless, who points out that he first shared the dream on Twitter two years ago.
I tweeted this dream two years ago. @channelten has made it a reality. @PointlessAU begins 6pm weeknights from Monday 23 July. pic.twitter.com/xkmhN6fTI8

Admittedly, he guessed the wrong network, suggesting it could be an ABC show.
But Dr Mumbo finds it so heart-warming, he’s almost ready to forgive the godawful promos.
Get set with me based on promos alone oztam quickly will highlight it was Pointless to commission this type of Family Feud program. give it a months tops!!

I have watched the UK version a few times, and it’s actually an interesting format, although the UK hosts engage in some of the most awkward banter you have ever seen, and some of the ‘contestants’ are clueless and pointless.
Hopefully Mark Humphries will bring some humour to it in the vein of Hard Quiz.
One thing that bugs me – how off-brand is this for Andrew Rochford?

Just…why?

I have watched Pointless on ABC TV for at least two years, a program I much enjoyed. I was delighted that an Australian version was to be shown on WIN. However, in order to fit this program into a half hour slot, the program has been chopped down considerably. Less contestants and only two questions instead of three at the final. Sorry WIN you have spoiled a really great program for me. For me, back to watching the UK version on ABC.

Well, they have destroyed the concept and game play of Pointless and no matter how hard the hosts try.. it doesnt work in a 23 minute spot

I loved the UK version. Love the Aussie version soooo much better.
Mark Humphries is ‘such a find’ and so down to earth. I love his humour, and delight when people win. The questions are also very broad and very interesting, compared to the UK version, which seems to be all politics, history and English football. May we see Pointless, Mark Humphries and Andrew Rochford on our screens for many years to come.
