PR agency Trish Nicol pushes into Melbourne
PR and event firm The Trish Nicol Agency has opened a Melbourne office.
The agency already represents Melbourne based brands such as Schweppes, design firms Toni Maticevski, Alannah Hill and Nobody Denim and Mini Ccooper. It has also recently added LAS property Developers, the company behind new shopping precinct 206 Bourke Street. The Sydney-based agency’s other clients include Cartier, Bentley and Sydney’s high end property development The Residence Hyde Park.
Nicol said that the downturn was seeing brands hold different types of event. She said: “”Flashy launch events have taken a hit in the past six months, and premium brands are looking to generate more intimate events which focus on establishing closer relationships with potential customers rather than big splashes and social coverage in the press.”
She said that another development was luxury brands combining databases and cross promoting.
As a corporate comedian and hoax speaker, I am certainly seeing less of the flashy events, too. But the bottom line aim for any event is too always to have an emotional impact on the audience.
Fortunately for my clients and I, event concepts based on live humour – my specialty area – are low cost, and still fit into many budgets. Such was the case when I helped Coca Cola to launch a new flavour by pretending to be their Vice President, Global Marketing.
The great thing about savvy operators like the Trish Nicol Agency is that they are open to all types of creative concepts, and have a happy knack of being able to meet client objectives, even when budgets are tight. It’s fantastic to see them in Melbourne.
