PR and entertainment company New Romans appoints Anthony Spargo as managing partner

Former Latitude Finance head of corporate affairs, Anthony Spargo, has been appointed as managing partner of PR and entertainment company New Romans.

Prior to GE rebranding to Latitude Finance, Spargo was its director of public affairs and GE Capital’s director of communications.

In his new role Spargo will be working alongside managing partner Mark Eggleton and Singapore-based Dan Ferguson.

Spargo said that the prospect of working with Eggleton and Ferguson and the company’s approach to content and PR attracted him to the role.

“I was looking for something exciting and new in content, PR and entertainment with a very clear point of difference in the market. That is what New Romans provides – we use the very best and most respected journalists from across Australia and Asia, to help bring to life the great brand stories of the clients we work with,” Spargo said.

“We also offer our partners issues, strategic and crisis management services so they can benefit from a ‘full suite’ approach to enhance and protect their brands. For too long in multiple in-house roles, I’ve had to use separate agencies for content, PR and issues – the beauty of New Romans is we can service all of that, in one business.

“It means the client only needs to provide one brief, one time – meaning easier, quicker and ultimately more cost-effective communications services because they now don’t have to hire numerous firms. They also then know they’re getting the highest quality services, including writing from leading journalists right across the globe,” Spargo concluded.

Following Spargo joining the business, New Romans is planning on revitalising its entertainment business Lunch Media with its own magazine.

A statement from New Romans said: “We plan to revitalise Lunch with more premium events, more partnerships and more quality content. Lunch will focus on great ideas and the ‘business of travel’ while also highlighting the best in food, lifestyle and entertainment.”
