PR executive Ant Kelaher returns to Australia to rejoin Ogilvy in senior role

Former Ogilvy PR director Ant Kelaher has returned to the company as chief growth officer seven years after departing the agency.

Kelaher spent three years at Ogilvy before relocating to New York in 2015 where he held senior roles at Edelman, FleishmanHillard and, most recently, Golin where he was executive director, senior vice president.

Ogilvy PR and Ogilvy Health chief executive Richard Brett said he was “beyond thrilled” to see Kelaher return.

“With his recent international experience we’re excited for him to bring a fresh perspective to our agency strategy, marketing, investments, new business and organic growth opportunities,” he said.

The agency said Kelaher takes over from Jacquie Potter, MD of Ogilvy’s tech and business communications consultancy Howorth, who also held the role of chief growth officer.

“The chief growth officer role is now a standalone position given the focus on agency growth,” Ogilvy said.

Meanwhile, Ogilvy PR, which rebranded from Opr in July, said it has made 25 promotions across the company’s leadership, communications, social, content and operations’ teams.

Among the senior promotions include content and editorial director Brian Corrigan who was named head of editorial and business director David Radestock who becomes senior business director.

The roles reflect the agency’s new “consultancy structure” that groups all team members either as a specialist – focusing on a technical or specialist communication skill – or as a subject matter expert, focused on a specific client or industry, Ogilvy said.

“We know that our key strength as an agency is our people and investing in their continued development and specialisms is an ongoing priority,” Brett said.

”The volume of promotions across the agency is testament to our team members’ hard work and the exceptional results they deliver for our clients and business day in, day out.”
