Principals to brand Team GWS
Western Sydney’s AFL team GWS has appointed brand strategy company Principals to handle its branding.
The announcement:
Team GWS, Western Sydney’s AFL team, have appointed Principals as their branding Agency. Principals will create the brand identity including logo for the new AFL club, scheduled to launch in 2012.
“Principals were successful in the pitch process because of their fresh thinking and their ability to bring the Club brand to life, drawing on the values and history of the AFL, while suggesting a bold and contemporary approach to creating a new brand,” said Simone Clarke, Team GWS Campaign Manager.
The agency was chosen by a selection panel, following a competitive creative bid process with four other leading agencies.
Simon Wright, creative director of Principals, said “we’re absolutely delighted to win this. At Principals, we’re in the business of creating iconic Australian brands, so we’re really excited to be part of creating an identity for the AFL’s newest team.”
