Product of the Year Awards nominations open

Entries for this year’s Product of the Year Awards are open, with the early bird discount closing next week.

The fifth annual Product of The Year Awards offers 2014 entrants until July 5th to receive the $500 early bird discount.

The announcement:

Early bird entries for the fifth annual Product of The Year Awards close on July 5, with just over a week left for entrants to receive a $500 discount. The annual awards recognise the most innovative products on the market, with the winners selected by more than 11,000 shoppers in the country’s biggest independent consumer survey.

To be eligible for entry, products must be a new launch, or an existing product or brand that relaunched between January 2012 and August 2013. Examples of a relaunch include new innovative twists such as an extra ingredient, shape, size, formula or packaging.

This year, Product of The Year has already received a high number of entriesacross a range of categories and has received high levels of interest in the new categories for small and large appliances, entertainment products and communications products.

An expert panel, including host of Channel Nine’s The Today Show, Lisa Wilkinson, will determine whether each product meets the key criteria of the program and those that do will proceed to judging in the survey conducted by global research group Neilsen.

After the survey has been conducted, all entrants are given access to their category’s findings from the Neilsen research.

Sarah Connelly, Director of Product of The Year said: “Entering the Product of the Year Awards not only puts brands in the running to win an accolade proven to increase sales, but also gives them access to unique insights from Australia’s largest independent consumer survey.”

Connelly continued: “Previous Australian winners have reported sales increases of more than 40% after using the Product of the Year logo on their packaging, promotions and advertising, a number which we’re confident will continue to grow this year as the awards continue to gain momentum.”
