Production company WTFN makes key appointments
Production company WTFN, producers of Bondi Vet and the newly announced The Living Room, has made key appointments in Anne-Maree Sparkman as head of production, Paul Rudd as executive producer and Sara Morrow at the company’s Los Angeles bureau.
The announcement:
Prolific independent producer WTFN has announced a series of new appointments to accommodate the company’s rapidly-expanding production slate.
The appointments were announced as WTFN gears up to deliver more than 50 hours of prime time television in 2012 and another 40 hours of branded entertainment.
Anne-Maree Sparkman, who joined WTFN at its inception, is taking over as Head of Production. Sparkman spent 25 years with the Nine Network before joining WTFN. She’s been the driving force behind many of the company’s programs including high profile ob-doc series “Bondi Vet”.
“Bondi Vet has been a consistently strong performer for the TEN Network and is enjoying huge success for Animal Planet in the UK and Europe. That’s largely due to Anne-Maree’s passion as a producer and commitment to compelling story-telling,” said WTFN Managing Director, Daryl Talbot. “I am delighted that Anne-Maree has agreed to take on an expanded role with WTFN. She is a great leader inside the company and a person of impeccable integrity.”
Meanwhile WTFN has recruited experienced factual Executive Producer, Paul Rudd, to lead the team responsible for TEN’s new lifestyle entertainment offering “The Living Room.” Rudd, who was formerly Head of Factual at Freehand and an EP at Nine, joins WTFN at the busiest time in its history.
“We were determined to recruit Paul to the WTFN team,” said Talbot. “A production the size of The Living Room needs a calm leader with vision, flair and a bloody good sense of humour. We’re looking forward to working with Paul to create a fresh and exciting program for TEN.”
WTFN’s third appointment is offshore with the company engaging Sara Morrow to run its newly-opened Los Angeles bureau.
“Of the 100 or so applicants we had for this position Sara was the standout candidate,” Talbot said.
“Sara’s experience has given her a deep understanding of the US factual market which we know will be vital as our business grows in the most competitive TV market on the planet.”
