Production house Jungleboys to produce a feature film

jason burrowsAustralian production house Jungleboys has signalled aspirations to create a feature length movie.

In a video interview with Encore editor Brooke Hemphill, Jungleboys founder and executive producer Jason Burrows said: “We’d like to do a feature at some stage. Down the track we’d like to do something. We definitely have some ideas that we think lend themselves to features rather than to TV.”

The production house has seen moderate success with ABC sketch comedy series The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide To Knife Fighting and A Moody Christmas which they are in talks to produce a US adaptation.

While Burrows pointed to a future feature, he says the company is currently focused on production television and last year was awarded a share of more than $2.7 million as part of Screen Australia’s Enterprise Funding program.

“It is brilliant assistance that Screen Australia has given us,” said Burrows. “Every year they select three or four production companies and they give us quite a large amount of financial support over three years that we can spend on developing new projects.”
