Profero Sydney hires Jonathan Cole to boost media and data capability
Digital agency Profero Sydney has hired Jonathan Cole as the new senior performance manager.

Profero, the world’s largest independent digital agency, today announced the appointment of Jonathan Cole as Senior Performance Manager for its Australian operations.
Mr. Cole, who joins Profero Sydney after having founded and run SEO focused consulting business Dragontail in the UK for the past five years, will be responsible for developing client performance media strategies across all digital channels including search, PPC, SEO and social.
Reporting directly to Profero Australia Head of Communications Phillip Ely, Mr Cole will manage the Sydney based Profero Performance team, integrating digital performance media strategy and innovation in data collection and analysis, into the agency’s existing and future client roster.
He will also work closely the global Profero Performance team, led by Ross Jenkins in the UK to integrate global best practice and technology innovation across Sydney and the APAC region.
Mr Ely said the appointment was a crucial part of Profero’s strategic plans across Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
“With the departure of Fabian Di Marco to focus on building his own consulting business, it was incredibly important to bring in someone who could continue to drive the performance business forward,” he said.
“Jonathan brings a huge range of global industry experience to Profero, having helped some of the world’s largest and most influential brands achieve extraordinary results for their online properties. He has also proven himself a savvy businessman, running his own shop for 5 years in an incredibly competitive UK market.
“This appointment bolsters an already world-class team and ensures we will not miss a beat in continuing to deliver results focused work that achieves our client’s business objectives,” he added.
Mr Cole added that his experience was a natural complement to Profero’s existing team.
“Having founded and run a successful SEO consultancy for the last five years in the UK, I feel I am well placed to create client solutions that create a genuine and long-lasting commercial difference,” he said.

Prior to setting up Dragontail, Mr Cole enjoyed a successful career in academic research, having completed a PHD at Oxford University under a prestigious Rhodes scholarship.
