Qantas extends partnership with Luxury Escapes

Qantas has extended its partnership with Luxury Escapes, with Frequent Flyer points now redeemable on holidays booked via the luxury holiday company.

The news follows February’s announcement that Qantas Frequent Flyer members could earn Qantas Points when booking an eligible holiday through Luxury Escapes.

Luxury Escapes joins Airbnb, Uber and Hoyts, all of whom have similar partnerships with the airline.

“We are delighted to offer Qantas Frequent Flyer members the opportunity to redeem points to book a Luxury Escapes holiday outright or, in-effect, ‘upgrade’ their travel experience by using their Qantas Points,” Blake Hutchison, Luxury Escapes’ general manager, said.

Hutchison said the initial response to the partnership between Luxury Escapes and Qantas had been very strong.

“In less than four months we’ve seen tens of thousands of Australians link their Qantas Frequent Flyer and Luxury Escapes accounts so they can start to earn Qantas Points when they travel with us. Today’s announcement offers our customers an even more rewarding travel experience and we’re excited to see how our members respond.”

Qantas loyalty executive manager, commercial David Young said: “We know Qantas Frequent Flyer members like to use their Qantas Points to treat themselves so this gives them a new opportunity to book a more luxurious room or resort or enjoy a longer stay.

“Making a holiday more affordable is at the top of the travel wish list for many of our members so we expect it to be a popular new way to use points.”
