QMS locks in five-year deal with Netball Australia

Outdoor media company QMS has confirmed a five-year deal with Netball Australia through its new acquisition, Out & About Media & Marketing (OAMM).

The news comes just months after QMS announced it was looking to spend $22.4m in digital sport outdoor media and technology assets, acquiring an 80% stake in OAMM as part of the process.

QMS also acquired a 50% stake in Live Docklands, one of the rights holders to digital advertising at Etihad Football Stadium and a 20% acquisition of mobile app developer Sportsmate Australia.

As part of the deal, QMS will be the official in-stadium digital signage partner for Netball Australia.

QMS will have exclusive rights to all in-stadium media activity for the Suncorp Super Netball series, half of which will be televised on Nine and will be live streamed through Telstra.

Barclay Nettlefold, CEO of QMS said the partnership was the perfect way to connect engaged audiences and brands.

“This partnership with Australia’s leading women’s sport enables us to provide our clients access to this highly sort after audience, through quality digital media solutions in a highly-engaged environment,” said Nettlefold.

“It is an exciting time for the sport and QMS’ commitment is another important milestone in the continued progression of netball as Australia’s premier women’s sport,” added Marne Fechner, acting chief executive officer of Netball Australia.

Edward Abbott, CEO, director Out & About Marketing & Media said in a release the national reach and “alignment of netball with females” was of great benefits to brand partners.

QMS’ newest partnership adds to the list of sports sponsorships and digital rights at stadiums including the Sydney Cricket Ground, ANZ Stadium, Allianz Satdium, AAMI Park, Suncorop Stadium and NZ Super Rugby venues.
