Quickflix launches streaming service to home computers

quickflix-logoOnline movie service Quickflix has today announced its instant movie streaming service to home computers.

In late October, Quickflix launched its streaming service for Sony products such as Blu-ray players, Bravia TVs and Playstation 3s.

Today the company took the next step to stream content to PCs and Macs on an internet connection speed of 1 megabyte per second or faster.

Chris Taylor, CEO of Quickflix said: “With over two weeks of streaming data since our launch on Sony Bravia the early indications of usage are very encouraging with subscribers taking full advantage of our unlimited proposition. This next phase of our digital roll out will provide an addressable market of millions of potential viewers. We are expanding our range of streaming titles and also boosting our online DVD rental business having recently tripled our library of DVD and Blu-ray discs.”

Prior to the Sony streaming launch, Quickflix locked in deals with Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros International Brand Services, Lakeshore Entertainment, Content Media Corporation and Pinnacle Films.

Users on ADSL, ADSL2+ or wireless internet will be able to access the service called WatchNow.

The service is available to over 5 million Australians.
