Radio ratings: Perth’s Mix 94.5 breaks survey record

Austereo’s Mix 94.5 has broken a record for the Australian radio industry after coming first in 87 consecutive surveys.

It took the record from sister station B105 Brisbane.

Mix 94.5 has been number one in the Perth market since December 1999.

Austereo Perth GM Linda Waymans said: ““There are a number of factors contributing to Mix’s success but the big one is the fact that everyone on the Mix team has always been prepared to change and evolve to suit the listeners. Treating the listeners as number one is how we have stayed number one.”

In today’s ratings, Mix’s station share jumped. It’s weekday share rose from 15.2% to 16.9% while its seven day share rose from 15.3% to 16.4%.

Sister Austereo station 92.9 was close behind with a share of 14.3%.

Meanwhile, at breakfast, Mix 94.5’s long standing The Bunch – Fred Botica, Lisa Shaw and Paul Shepherd  – remained the number one Perth commercial station with a share of 14.8%, just behind ABC 720’s 16.4%.
